You really should have shared your Data…

Tom Hartley linked in a post from the blog Strasbourg Observers about the Gilberg case I mentioned below.  I admit, legal logic makes me feel like I’m in a mirror-chamber, and not in a fun way.  From what I understand, the court said that his rights to privacy were not violated by the criminal conviction he received for having destroyed the medical records that his research is based upon.  But, this could possibly be important in discussions about the ethics of sharing research data.
