From the Conversation – heading for a crash?
Tom Stafford linked in this post from the Conversation. In some ways covers similar questions to those I mulled and mused muddledly about in the post just prior to this. Does the push for more. More pubs, more grants, more time, more growth set academia as we know it up for a crash? Everywhere? (The US situation differs from the Swedish situation, which differs… well, you know). But, as with the financial markets, this is a global economy of knowledge generation, so crashes one, there is a likelihood that there are more crashes.
Shudder.
(I’m then awaiting Michael Lewis book on the academic crash… oh never mind.)
