Flurry of articles and posts in response to replication dust-up, and Nature article.
I just thought I would collect them here. Starting out with Gary Marcus’s New Yorker article “The crisis in social psychology that isn’t”
Some (including me) kinda triumphantly retweeted it. Others take a mildly darker view – there is a crisis of replication, not only in social psychology – it just that perhaps the Shanks/Dijksterhuis one was not that big of a deal.
I also liked Pete Etchells’ take on it. And, it has a series of nice comments following.
On edit, May 9, Ap Dijksterhuis also commented on Pete’s blog. Let’s see where this goes.
I loved this title: How about we stop freaking out about non-replications and take a deep signal detection-y breath (because I find singal-detection thinking so useful, perhaps). From Dominic Packer.
Daniel Simons also weights in.
In the midst of this Matt Lieberman tweeted in an older blog post regarding the elderly prime non-replication.
Finally, Janet Stemwedel comments on the ex-Dr X
On Edit: Wanted this Andrew Gelman post on undead theories in there too….
